Get to Know Our New Partner, Dr. Weed
The new year brings great news! We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Banks Weed has become a partner here at Guffee Dental Associates. Already an integral part of our practice, Dr. Weed has taken the next step in his dental career with this decision. Get to know our newest partner below.
Q: What motivates you in your career? In your everyday life?
A: I’ve always been very motivated and eager to learn new concepts and expand my education in the rapidly growing – and rapidly changing – field of dentistry. I love the feeling that good dentistry can make such a positive impact on the community. Every day, I have the amazing opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others by helping patients achieve a healthy, beautiful smile!
Q: What inspired you to get into dentistry?
A: I knew I wanted to be a dentist since I was about 13 years old. I’ve always enjoyed working with my hands, dating back to my younger years as a Lego-building guru. I’m a very detail-oriented person and have always enjoyed critical thinking and problem solving. Dentistry allows me to use these skills to help others achieve and maintain oral health. Over the years, I’ve learned that serving the community through dental health is one of the most rewarding and fulfilling opportunities I’ve ever experienced.
Q: What do you value most about being part of Guffee Dental Associates?
A: Since 2019, I’ve had the special opportunity to work at Guffee Dental Associates. I’ve had the privilege of learning from the best, Dr. Guffee. The knowledge and experience I’ve gained has strengthened the love and appreciation I have for dentistry. The staff is amazing and has become like family. I’m honored to be part of this practice and look forward to many years to come!
Q: What do you and your family enjoy most about the Anderson area?
A: As a native of Charleston, I moved to the area almost 5 years ago with my wife, Mary Frances. Since then, we’ve added 2 daughters, Emmy and Laney. There are plenty of things we love about the area, including the food, proximity to the lake and mountains, but mostly…. the people! Anderson has a real sense of community, which makes it a great place to work, live, and raise a family. We feel blessed to call such a warm and welcoming place our home.
Dr. Weed adds, “As we all know, coming to the dentist is not usually the most pleasant experience for anyone. I hope to do everything in my power to ease your anxieties or concerns and make you feel as comfortable as possible. I’m thankful for the opportunity to serve this community and look forward to helping you achieve your best smile!”
Please join us in congratulating Dr. Weed on this achievement!
